Muncy’s Kiwanis Club, Historical Society
Announce 2010 “Muncy Cup” Winners

ALLENWOOD – The Vintage Course at White Deer Public Golf Course was an ideal setting for this year’s co-sponsored 2010 Muncy Cup golf event. Muncy’s Historical Society and Kiwanis Club partner for the annual outing that helps both organizations achieve community-minded objectives: preserving local history and heritage for future generations and helping the young people of the community.

Receiving Muncy Cup flags and gift certificates were the first-place winning team (gross) of Larry Torre, Bob Troxel, Art Smith and Brett Shoemaker, and the first-place winning team (net) Josh Flook, Kyle Fera, Chuck Bryant and John Renzo. Second-place gross winners were Jason Wheeland, Eric Miller, Bobby Naugle, and Jeff Trought, and net second-place winners were Bill Poulton, Richard Poulton, John Picarelli and Hans Reisinger. Taking third place gross were Ken Fry, Keith Danner, Keith Houseknecht and Jeff McPeek, and third-place net winners were Nate Grenoble, Justin Grenoble, Mike Spaide and Dan Swank.

Kyle Fera’s and Jason Wheeland’s in-the-hole-putts forced them into a contest playoff with Wheeland’s putt inching out Fera’s as this year’s putting contest winner. Don Berninger was closest to the pin on hole 13 and Dan Swank had the honors on hole 17.

The trail will allow Muncy to showcase the history and natural beauty of Port Penn, a commercial center and residential area that grew out of, and around, the bustling West Branch Canal industry of the 1800s. . The Kiwanis Club supports programs that benefit underprivileged youth, needy families and it is a supporter of many community-focused projects. Both all-volunteer, not-for-profit organizations encourage and support a number of educational initiatives including special exhibits, living history programs, and scholarship awards for graduating seniors.
