Penn’s Pals

The Muncy Historical Society will host the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’ s2012 Theatre-in-the-Classroom (TIC) production: Penn’s Pals: Stories of Life in the Colonie of Pennsylvania at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12 in the Muncy High School Auditorium, 200 West Penn Street. Admission to this Society-sponsored event is free and open to the public.

Penn’s Pals is an original piece created and directed by Ensemble member Andrew Hubatsek. Join three “printer’s devils” apprentices at Benjamin Franklin of Philadelphia’s printing house as they act out the life and adventures of William Penn. Penn’s writings, philosophy, and his contribution in influencing the founding fathers as they struggled to create a new country are at the core of this production.

Using colonial and contemporary song, children’s games, mime, puppetry, audience participation, and BTE’s time-tested storytelling techniques, Franklin’s boys will illustrate this eventful history all the while giving the audience a picture of the daily life and times in Colonial Philadelphia.
