Children, parents and grandparents will be entertained with the reading of Clement Clarke Moore’s classic story, “The Night Before Christmas” at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 in the Muncy Historical Society’s meeting room, 40 N. Main St.
The annual event is designed to entertain both young and old alike, and as in past years, Santa Claus is expected to make a guest appearance. The meeting room will be decorated for the holidays and there will be plenty of opportunities for picture taking. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.
The society’s meetings and events are always open to the public and light refreshments will be served immediately following the reading.
Anyone interested in holiday shopping will still be able to do so right after the Christmas reading. Volunteers will be available to handle sales from noon to 2 p.m. on Dec. 7. The holiday reading is the society’s last event of the year and the museum will close until March, 2014.
