A Year of Learning & Focus

World War II: From the Battlefields to the Home Front

US_Marine_Corps_War_Memorial_(Iwo_Jima_Monument)_near_Washington_DC

Two presentations by Sue Reich, quilt historian and author…

“Is It Scrap Happy
or 1,000 Pieces and Counting”

If you think that quilters have a fabric stash, it’s nothing compared to the excessive amounts of fabric women of the 19th century had access to. If you love multitudinous pieced quilts, you will love this presentation. Featured are quilts with thousands of pieces made between 1830 and 1945. Learn the history of these quilts and view a large trunk show.

and …

Quiltmaking That Saw Us Through The War Years: 1941-1945”

A Power Point presentation and trunk show about women coming together to make quilts to commemorate military service, to raise funds for the war effort, to comfort the British, French and refugees, and to celebrate victory in war.
